Benefits of Membership in The Society

Members of The St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg, through their membership and financial support, play an important role in the promotion and preservation of Scottish culture and tradition for themselves and their families, and for the people of Manitoba. Members are entitled to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting, to a reduced fee for attendance at most Society events and to receive The Saltire newsletter in electronic or printed format. All new members are entitled to attend a New Members' Night where they are presented with a Membership Certificate, a lapel pin and a hardcover copy of A Proud Heritage - A History of The St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg 1871 - 1982

The historical membership list is a veritable Who’s Who of Manitoba society, including premiers, senators, MPs, MLA, mayors, city councillors, chief constables, and numerous members of the military, business community, academia, judiciary, the clergy, the arts, and professions.

Membership in The St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg is open to all by application and nomination and there are two categories of Membership:

  • Active membership -  persons of Scottish birth or documented descent, 18 years of age and over who share the Society's objectives and purposes;
